Have your say in the comments!
its super cute! but that’s not a fish. that’s an amphibian called an axolotl. i love them :3.
This little critter should be in an animated movie!
Thats a baby dog fish. Its half of both! Its does have gills! I used to have some for pets.
That is not a fish it is a salamander species. I agree with Bonnie> I don’t about it being cute but I think it’s awesome looking.
In UR fishtanx, bein’ devolved…
It’s an axolotl… a type of salamander that can breed in captivity opposed to most other salamnder types. They have remarkable healing capacity… therefore are used in wound repair regeneration experiments in the European and USA labs.
So I Hurd u liek mudkipz
A pink sally–is that cute, or WHAT!
I never in my life thought I would c a cute fish other than Nemo.
that is cute newt! not a fish.
Actually, yes! Looks like a Disney character, LOL!
lol a Murloc
A fish that could hug you?
The first fish to crawl up on land?
Looks like a mix of a Clefairy and Wooper (:
it looks absolutely adorable! and its a salamander? i actually had hope that this was a new species and it was some kind of pokemon… lol
:O I want one!!
Well, I just learned a little something. I thought it was photoshop.
Looks like a Murloc from WOW.
I want one
I want one as well it’s so cute and I love the murlocs from WOW!!!!!
That’s a fish?
I know you’re young, but you know how to write and you probably know how to read also. If you read some of the comments, you’ll find out that it’s not a fish. You’ll also find out what it is.
My, aren’t WE snotty–& arrogant. Get over yourself & in a better mood before your next comment!
Marcie Castello – I don’t know why, but reading too much stuff here does make me snotty & arrogant. I’m in a better mood now … I haven’t been here long. Oh yeah … get over YOURself.
This is very cute, lots of know-how here. Thanks everyone. I didn’t think it was a fish, but I didn’t know anything about it. To chorus so many of you…I want one too.
I know about the axolotl, too. Sometimes it’s an air-breathing salamander, sometimes it’s more fish-like! That little pink and white sweetheart is just plain uber-cute!
fun to feed.
They have those at the van aquarium….super neat
Of course it is. I am so glad that Bonnie told us the species…
It isn’t a fish it is a mud-puppy, which is, as I shall have you know, is an amphibian.
kinda lame that they are calling it a fish, we call them mud puppies here…i catch them when fishing occasionally, ours are brown though not pink.
NO! It’s creepy! *shudders*
THIS IS NOT A FISH! This is an Axolotl. Yes, it is in the Phylum: Chordata (so are fish and PEOPLE). But it is in the class of Amphibia with frogs, toads, and salamanders. Fish are in the class of Actinopterygii. Totally different from morphological, cladistic, phylogenetic, ecological, and evolutionary viewpoints. Bottom Line: THIS IS NOT A FISH! But it is pretty cute.
Way too weird for me. It gives me the creeps!
I’m raising 6 of those guys right now.
Ahh yes, the elusive mudkip
so I heard you like mudkips…
So cute! I want one!
It is cute. It has arms and looks like it is smiling.
Right…whats no to love???
@[100001044110248:2048:Amber Lee Ciesco] a pink fish…look look!
it is cute. but im not sure it would be to willing to cuddle.
A fish with hands.
When I was younger, this is what my Sea Monkeys looked like to me
This is a cousin to salamanders or is one I didn’t look the following up, I just using what I know of animal biology, don’t ask me for specific names because they all get jumbled in my head.. They can live in underground water systems and caves. Other species and perhaps this one sometimes live near or at waterfalls. Those horny pink limbs with the hair like structures are basically external gills. They also may have the dual function of sifting food from flowing water. There are salamanders throughout the world, some on land some in rivers or streams, some underground.
Jigglypuff!
is that even real? it is too cute for words.
I want one!!!
looks like a mini pink dragon. apparently dragons can swim.
it is real! they have them at the garfield conservatory! so funny!
I must go to the conservatory and see them
I have seen one at the local zoo.
<3 These are so cute! Mudkips look like them.
Take that “theory of evolution”.
Take what? This is an intermediate species between a fish and an amphibian.
Don’t you mean “Take that ‘Intelligent Design’”?
Wow.. I Can’t believe you even said that. xD That wasn’t intelligent at all. You just proved that you got left out in the logic department of the brain. xD lmao
Wow! Nature, once again, showing how wonderful it is.
Our Creator…
Sorry, but my parents created me and as far as I know, they didn’t create you or axolotyls
Sorry, too, Janie–but your comment LOST me…
I don’t know why my comment lost you. Basically, here’s what it means … Naomi said: “Our Creator…”. My comment means: I’m an atheist … I don’t think a creator had anything to do with it. You may not agree with me, but are you still lost?
Yes!
OMG, I want one. Does anyone know if they are fresh or salt water?
No you don’t! Lol… they are almost extinct!
His face is cute at least… but the rest of him…. like none I’ve ever seen!
very cute.. tiny hands, and armes never seen one like this.
We have 2 of these. We hatched them from eggs. They are not fish but amphibians…salamander type…they keep their larval gills and stay in the water…do not under go metamorphosis
It’s not a fish, and it’t not exactly what *I* consider cute, but it is interesting, and a neat photo.
That’s cute where would u get one
Cute but otherworldly!
This Axolot is cute. As of 2010, wild axolotls are near extinction due to urbanization in Mexico City and polluted waters.
Very true. I learned about this on the discovery channel. That’s also where i learned that Talapia is consider a sewer fish in Mexico because they use they to clean up polluted waters! Anybody here eat Talapia??? lol
Yikes! Not anymore!!
That’s a cryin’ shame they’re near extinction.
It’s very interesting fish, Is it fresh water or salt? I would like to buy one..
It’s not a fish.
You’ve a sharp eye for the obvious, there, Janie.
Ist of all, I don’t think it’s so obvious to all the people who keep calling it a fish. 2nd of all, what is it about my posts? Why do you feel the need to comment on all off them?
Definitely an Axololt, an aquatic salamander, native to Mexico. A most endangered species!
Definitely an Axololt, an aquatic salamander, native to Mexico! Currently on the most endangered species list!
Very cute
its a wooper pokemon…………….
what is this? totally cute, I want one! )
It is cute! actually it’s a salamander called an Axolotl (Ambystoma mexicanum) Thank you Shanda.
It’s awesome to know that there are more people that know this species! It’s so unique with it’s evolutionary changes and limb regeneration (which is still being studied by scientists)! <3 ^_^
Yes, it is! And, yes, it’s very cute.
Did you know, that if you inject them with iodine, they turn into “proper” salamanders! (i.e. final stage of development, gills inside, and more normal colour)
What exactly is that thing? It has legs and a back fin, and I can’t even tell if it has gills because of those odd spiny looking things. Is is some sort of hybrid or mutant?
It’s an axolotl. The odd spiny things are part of it’s gills. It’s related to a salamander
So adorable, what kind is it?
Its kind of cute
hey check out the pics of the tiny animals in cups it sooo funny
Axolotl
This is a fish? Looks like some kind of pink amphibian.
looks like a pokemon or something.
