I can relate to this hen! Being a mom for 14 years and a nanny for 10, it’s hard to turn it off!

I rehabilitated a horribly abused rooster who had a wonderful nurturing instinct. He mother henned all our kitten fosters. clucking over them, grooming them and doing whatever he could to corral them and sit on them, or at least hold them under his wings. Roosters and turkey toms have a reputation for being anything but parental towards their young, but we had a pair of pet turkeys when I was a child, and the tom was the same way, after the hen died and left turklets to be cared for.
