Crazy Cat Lady Starter Kit

Just remember guys, have your pets spayed and neutered. It is the best gift you can give your pet. Many animals are put to sleep because the shelters don’t have enough room. Give them a better quality of life and a good home where they are not prone to danger and suffering as a stray. There are low-cost animal organizations that have vets to donate their time to spay and neuter animals. I have used them and they are wonderful! Remember the responsibility you have been given. You are right Lori It is a huge responsability and there a few people out there who believe they shouldn’t do it but when you drive out in the country and see all the free kitten/puppy signs it lets you know there is a problem.

Shondra Brown Shondra, IT IS NOT ADVISABLE TO FIX WHILE PREGNANT!! Unfortunately, I have had to abort a pregnancy. One mom that came to me. I had already taken her two babies and fixed them. I had difficulty in attaining kindness traps. So, she got pregnant again and I placed her kittens in a no-kill shelter which would only take them in if I socialized them. They were under a crawl-space which was hard to do. Then she got pregnant again. I worked with a group called S.A.R.A. here in NJ who worked with a vet. I felt bad about terminating her pregnancy. It was a low cost assist. She stayed overnight and was observed. Her and her children live with me now. One is a tiger and the other a Maine Coon Cat, (Long-haired tuxedo cat).

Robert Thom Benson Just as I am reading your comment my hubby is yelling at me from downstairs..one of our cats the male who is fixed and 7 years old has started peeing outside the box on the carpet…long story….trying to find a solution to this problem…..sigh……

It can be complicated. First, are there any new changes in the environment like other siblings animal or human? Cats are like children. Give extra love if this is the case. Emotional tressors can cause this. Also, have you changed the type of litter you use? If you change litter, you have to introduce it slowly by mixing it into the litter that the cat is already used to. The same thing happened to me because I did not introduce new litter slowly. Also, don’t take this personally cats are meticulous and like a clean pan. I have 9 cats and 7 pans. It works out OK. Long story trying to find homes. My 5 cats are fixed. Pregnant mom showed up with kittens. Now they are teenagers. A lot of work. I have three prospective homes plus working with Petsmart. Also, your vet is the best expert. Best of luck! Lory Anello Thank you!!!!! Long story very short… my baby “Bronx” lost his buddy Brooklyn(we got them as kittens 7 years ago) a few years ago, after she died he would wander around the house looking for her and crying…so after a month we got him a new friend “Sierra” I t was rough but now they tolerate each other..plus we moved twice!(lost our home and the last rental fell into forclosure!) He never peed outside of his box until we moved to our present home. I think he is stressed because all my hubby has to do is to put boxes in th eliving room Bronx associates it with moving and he freaks! He pees in the same spot on the carpet by the window. we live in a rental so when the day comes to leave e will have to replace it…frstrating but I love my baby Bronx…tried everythigng to get rid of smell…nothing works, Right now I am trying essential oils to calm him down..no luck yet!! Thanks for listening!!!!

Jeannean Lomax So sorry that you and your cat have been through so much together! People don’t realize how sensitive animals can be. I was never able to get rid of the smell in my carpet because of change in litter. I use plug-in oil to eliminate order in my living room. Technically, it should be removed, but I have been a single mom for years and I can’t afford a new carpet.

What about one of those soft beds that look like a hide-away. You know it looks like a little cave. Maybe that would calm him down. Definitely do not use an inverted box.
