Animals can only clean themselves to a certain point themselves. A bath every few months helps protect them fleas and ticks.

Kittens are not filthy in the first place! They clean themselves. So, uh, NO, they don’t need a bath!!!

In seasons where your kitty sheds a lot sometimes a bath can wash away dander and loose hair that dosn’t come out with brushing. Some owners are allergic to their kitties so regular baths would help keep dander to a minimum. Sometimes bathing older kitties (if they don’t get too stressed) is helpful because as they age they can no longer reach certain places on their body (especially thier behind)to properly clean and they can smell or their fur can get very durty or matted. It really depends on your situation and your kitty.

It doesn’t hurt to give them a bath every now and again. Not like, everyday, or even every month. And especially when their young I’ve found a lot of them to get used to it and enjoy the pampering. That by itself is good so when they get older and they don’t clean themselves as well, or too big to get everywhere, you can help them

What you’ve never heard of a flea bath? Sometimes cats need a little help once in awhile if they get extra dirty or if they encounter fleas. Yeah some of them may not like it, but my 8 year old doesn’t ever want to take a shower…so should I never have him clean himself because he doesn’t want to or he doesn’t like it? LMAO.

Hmmm…I just don’t know. Would YOU like to be forced into doing something that you didn’t want to, or didn’t like to do?!!? Now wouldn’t that make you feel completely powerless and helpless? NOT a good feeling…is it?!!? Don’t be cruel and mean. Not nice, not necessary.

So….if your cat jumped into a mud puddle….or worse had a case of fleas they should then suffer with them? To me THAT would be cruel and mean. Sometimes yes it is necessary. We don’t know the circumstances in which the cat needed to be bathed. Our pets don’t necesarily like to go to the vet and get their shots or take medicine when they need to…but should you not because they really don’t like it? If your cat has fleas and you take it to the vet they would also give it a bath.Sometimes animals need baths. If you’re just washing your cat every day just for the heck of it, no that is not good because you are depleting the natural oils in their skin that is needed. I’ve had cats for 16 years, sometimes they need to be bathed.

Necessity is a matter of opinion, because its like saying you shouldn’t try and mke a kid eat their vegitables. The cats get their bath, they might be a little peeved off a little after, but they quickly forget all about it, and move on. And like I said, if you start them young enough, they usually learn to trust and enjoy it.
