I shave our longhair cat around the midriff, but not on the tail or behind the legs. No, it doesn’t look stylish, but cats hate when you buzz off the sensitive whisker like hairs there. They depend on those specialized hairs for sensing things around them. Cutting them off is not only like a little electric shock when you do it, it’s almost like you’re partially blinding them.

OMG! This is exactly what our orange, long-haired Maine Coon Cat would look like if we shaved him. I love it. I just may have this done!

Jacki, since our Toby died a little over a month ago that is what Cooter wants now is a Maine Coon!!!!!!
