Yep, it’s the warmth thing. And when my cat decides to lay on top of me, while he’s standing on my chest sometimes I can’t even breathe until he actually lays down. For some reason standing on top makes it hard, but not laying down. Either way, provide the cat with another warm place to lay and they wont be tempted to lay on baby.
Very Cute….
This is worth a try! lol
wow those are big cats, I never got rid of my cats with the babies. They were my best baby monitors. they came to get me when my son cried or was doing something he wasn’t supposed to be doing.
That baby is surrounded by love!
Warm bellies! I use my cat’s belly as a toe or hand warmer when it’s chilly.
At least this little one should stay warm!
So lucky! He looks so happy!
He looks so happy and comfortable snuggled by his kitties
I agree Gale, my mother told me while I was growing up that a cat would suffocate the baby by laying on their chest and suck out theirbreath…. totally crazy, but back then that’s what people believed,, so glad to see such a beautiful picture totally debunking that theory…
the problem is, cats like warm places, and will sometimes lay on people when they lay down. That is where the myth was born, so will the cats eat the babies soul? no, but best to supervise them until the child is older.
What kills me is the fact that companies make cheap mesh tops for cribs that keep kitties out of the crib when parents can’t supervise the two!
as with any pet and a newborn, it goes without saying there should be supervision, but there are ways to prepare the cat for the baby before its arrival to avoid any dangerous behaviors.
This is so terribly sweet I can’t stand it! what a bunch of little love muffins~.
Cuteness overload <3
This so cute and it annoys me the people who get rid of their cats because they think they will suffocate the baby. That is so not true.
I agree. Come on.
Another one of those crazy fairy tales. My friend had a picture of her cat asleep in the crib with the baby. Totally the babysitter.
